Hanukkah, which begins the evening of Dec. 12, celebrates the victory of the Jewish Maccabees over the Greek Syrian oppressors in the land of Israel and the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem with the lighting of the Menorah. Although they had only one day’s supply of olive oil it miraculously lasted eight full days until new oil was obtained.
The public is invited to these community Menorah lightings that will feature, live holiday music, donuts, latkes, dreidels and other exciting holiday giveaways. Lightings are family friendly and are geared to all ages and are open to the entire community. Local dignitaries will attend to assist in lighting the Menorah.

Stew Leonard’s Community Menorah Lighting Celebration - Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 5 p.m.
A giant outdoor Menorah Lighting co-sponsored by Beth Israel & Stew Leonard’s will include live music, hot latkes, Hanukkah chocolate gelt, dreidels, and is perfect for the whole family. The Weston Menorah Celebration - Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m.
