Cultural Alliance Of Western Connecticut Seeks Nominees For Art Awards

DANBURY, Conn. – The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut seeks businesses and individuals to nominate for the 2014 Business Supports the Arts Awards, to be presented Oct. 16 at the BSA Awards Breakfast at the Matrix Conference & Banquet Center.T

The conference center is located at 39 Old Ridgebury Road.

These awards are bestowed upon businesses and individuals who benefit the arts and culture within the communities the alliance serves: Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Ridgefield, Redding, and Sherman. 

The BSA Award is provided to mid-sized and large businesses that join artists, businesses and communities in sharing the creative and economic value of working together, according to a press release. Past recipients include Danbury Hospital, Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra and Western Connecticut State University.

The Arts in the Community Award highlights community leaders who support initiatives that sustain a creative community focused on economic development. The Heart of the Arts Award recognizes an individual for efforts promoting the arts and increasing the quality of life in a community.

To nominate a business or individual, click here. The link provides award criteria, eligibility requirements, information about the review process, and access to a nomination form along with attachments. There is no limit to the number of businesses or individuals one can nominate.

Nomination forms can be mailed to The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut, attention: Awards Breakfast Committee, 287 Main St., Danbury CT 06810, or emailed to assistant@cawct.org. The deadline for receipt of all nomination forms is Aug. 25.
