Danbury Library Friends Group Calls For Book Donations

DANBURY, Conn. — The Friends of the Danbury Library will be accepting donations for its annual fall sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13.

The Friends of the Danbury Library are accepting donations of used books, DVDs and CDs. Residents are asked to bring donations to the Newtown Savings Bank at 30 Main St. in Danbury and not the library.

Donations may be dropped off at the friends’ new location at 15 Main St. To unload books, enter through the South Street School parking lot. Signs will indicate where to turn in. After entering, turn left at the school’s playground. Volunteers will be available to help unload your car at the rear of the friends’ building.

The friends are taking book, DVD, and CD donations. The group cannot accept the following materials:

  • Encyclopedias
  • VHS tapes
  • Readers Digest condensed books
  • Medical or business books more than five years old
  • Textbooks more than three years old
  • Computer books more than two years old
  • Textbooks with highlighting or writing in them
  • Magazines
  • Badly damaged books
