The pair, who live in Danbury, beat out district teams from Greenwich; as well as White Plains, Yonkers, and Mount Kisco, N.Y. The team then headed to the area competition and bested teams from New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Montreal to advance to the final stage.
During the competition, Aston and Cabell will receive teaching scenarios and will be required to demonstrate teaching methods and techniques.
“I am so proud of Tara and Andy and their accomplishments,” Nicole Almeida, owner of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio, said in a statement. “Our students love them and this competition demonstrates why.”
