Lynch, 37, plans to criss-cross New England as she bikes 2,100 miles in 30 days to raise funds to benefit her best friend, Ericka Onorato, and Ericka's family as well as Ann’s Place, a cancer support center in Danbury.
Lynch will leave from Danbury on Oct. 1 and cycle for 30 days, using a variety of routes that will include the mountainous region near North Conway, N.H., as well as the coastal region of Cape Cod.
The two women, who met as children at Shelter Rock Elementary School in Danbury, are telling their story of the cancer journey as well as the biking marathon on a blog.
Onorato, 38, of New Milford was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer in March. She successfully underwent 16 weeks of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy but is still facing six weeks of radiation.
Here is Lynch's cycling schedule so far, with the 2,100 miles broken up into different legs.
