Danbury’s Promise for Children Partnership and United Way of Western Connecticut’s Strong Start Neighborhood Initiative are sponsoring the fair. The event is free and open to all Danbury families.

It will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Park Avenue School, 72 Park Ave.

“This is a great, free event for families with young children,” said Caroline LaFleur, Director of Danbury’s Promise for Children Partnership. “We’ll have entertainment, interactive activities, and information about early learning programs and services in Danbury.”

The fair is also part of the Strong Start Neighborhood Project sponsored by the United Way of Western Connecticut.

Display tables at the fair will offer information for families about childcare, family support programs, parent leadership programs, health services, and other family support services in Danbury.

Acclaimed children’s performer, author, and songwriter John Farrell is scheduled to perform. Kids can join him in singing, sign language, and learning about respect, kindness, animals, nature, and more. His songs will leave you laughing and learning. Farrell has recorded eight CDs of songs and stories. His music and books are used in schools and early childhood centers around the world.

The fair will also include an interactive, educational animal encounter provided by Animal Embassy.

A free book and goodie bag will be provided to the first 100 families to arrive. The information and activities are targeted to families with children under the age of 8.

Nonprofit agencies and organizations that wish to register for a free display table should contact LaFleur at caroline.lafleur@uwwesternct.org or call 203-300-1486.
