Find Treasures, Quick Reads At Danbury Library Book Sale

DANBURY, Conn. -- Book lovers and bargain hunters will enjoy the annual book sale held by the Friends of the Danbury Library this weekend at the PAL Building.

The book sale kicks off early for those who can't wait and want to get the first pick of the goods. It opens from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, with $10 early admission, or free to members of the Friends of Danbury Library. 

Admission is free beginning at 10 a.m., and the sale will stay open until 5 p.m. A book signing with Bill Devlin and Herb Janick will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. 

On Sunday, the hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, and books are half-price. 

On Monday, the sale is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free, and books are $5 per bag. 

Big spenders will be happy to know that credit cards are now accepted at the sale. 

More han 80,000 items will be available, sorted into more than 60 categories, including the following:

  • Autographed Books
  • Biography
  • Business
  • Children's
  • Collectibles
  • Cooking
  • Ephemera
  • Fiction
  • Foreign Language
  • Gardening
  • Health

Audiobooks, CDs and DVDs will also be available. 

Most hardcovers are $2, paperbacks are 50 cents and up. 

There is also a large selection of specially priced collectible books from $5 and up.
