To celebrate, past First Night entertainers have been invited.
They include the Mad Hatters Barbershop Chorus, the New Hope Mass Choir, internationally acclaimed flautist Sherry Winston and more.
The event’s theme is "Make New Friends, Keep the Old."
Host venues include the Danbury Ice Arena, Danbury Public Library, Danbury Music Centre and Palace Danbury.
Buttons costing $10 allow access to all the festivities. They can be purchased at CityCenter on 186 Main St.; select branches of Union Savings Bank and the Savings Bank of Danbury; Danbury Public Library; the Patriot Garage; The Sweet Spot in New Milford; and Byrd’s Books in Bethel.
A 25th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held from 4:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at St. James Church.
First Night Danbury was founded in 1989 and adopted by CityCenter Danbury seven years ago to recognize the significance of downtown’s arts and business communities, as well as to provide an alcohol free alternative to celebrating the New Year.
First Night Danbury sponsors include Family & Children's Aid, All About Kids Pediatric Dentistry and Union Savings Bank.
