“We’re so proud of the hard-working youth in the YVC of Western Connecticut program,” said David Battey, founder and president of YVC, which is based in Kansas City. “Volunteering 100 hours in a single year is a great accomplishment for anyone, let alone teenagers balancing school and other extracurricular activities.” YVC of Western Connecticut engages youth ages 11-18 in quality, team-based service-learning projects. For five years, the YVC of Western Connecticut has engaged young people from diverse backgrounds in service projects helping the community. Nearly 200 youth served 3,679 hours with YVC of Western Connecticut during the last program year.
