Danbury's United Way Names New Board Members

DANBURY, Conn. – The United Way of Western Connecticut recently added seven new members to its board of directors.

The new members are:

  • Martin Anderson, senior vice president, Webster Bank.
  • Dr. Raul Arguello, chairman, Danbury Hospital department of pediatrics, Western Connecticut Health Network.
  • Cheryl A. Bakewell, partner, Bakewell & Mulhare.
  • Kurosh L. Marjani, partner, Wofsey Rosen Kweskin & Kuriansky.
  • Cynthia C. Merkle, president and chief operating officer, Union Savings Bank.
  • Susan M. Neumann, vice president, corporate communications and public relations, Praxair Inc.
  • Rick Tanner, chief marketing officer, Nestlé Waters, North America.

“We are thrilled with our new class of board members,” James Schmotter, president of Western Connecticut State University and UWWC board chair, said in a press release.

“This group joins a remarkable group of current board members who serve our organization with distinction. Our focus areas at United Way are education, income and health, and each of our new board members brings expertise on one or all of these priorities.”
