The Bridgeport-based workforce development organization is seeking nominations for its Service to Country and Community awards, which will be presented at its 5th annual Veterans Day awards ceremony.

The award goes to a veteran who has honorably served the nation and continues to add to the quality of life of his or her community. Many past recipients are unsung heroes whose outstanding service might go unnoticed.

The WorkPlace is also seeking nominations for employers who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans and organizations or groups that serve veterans.

Nomination forms and instructions are available by calling The WorkPlace at 203-610-8496 or by visiting the website.

Nominations must be received by Sept. 25. The event will take place Nov. 2 at Port 5 Naval Veterans in Bridgeport.
