Bears were spotted in two locations over the Memorial Day holiday weekend in Greenwich -- in a backyard on Birch Lane and on the property of the Burning Tree Country Club.

Stamford High School has a new leader after a rocky year as it hired Raymond D. Manka, who is currently an assistant principal at Norwalk High School, to take the reins as principal. As part of the fallout of the teacher-student sex scandal at Stamford High, Superintendent Winifred Hamilton also announced her retirement. 

Four teenage girls were arrested and another was hospitalized after police said a group of teenagers attacked a mother and her two daughters at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk on Memorial Day.
