Update 7 p.m.: FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Bus service was continuing for part of the Danbury branch of the New Haven Line on Thursday evening, Metro-North said.

Bus service was being provided northbound on the Danbury Branch between the Cannondale and Branchville stations due to slippery rail conditions.

Bus service was provided only for customers traveling to Branchville. Riders should listen for announcements at the stations.

Original story: FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Bus service was being provided Thursday afternoon on part of the Danbury branch of the New Haven Line, Metro-North announced via Twitter.

Buses were running between Cannondale and Branchville for the 4:35 and 5:49 p.m. trains due to slippery rail conditions, Metro-North said.

Bus service was being provided only for customers traveling to Branchville. Riders should listen for announcements at stations.

Bus service was provided earlier Thursday afternoon for the 2:15 p.m. train from South Norwalk to Danbury and for the 3:16 p.m. train from Danbury to South Norwalk due to mechanical difficulties. Bus service was running late.
