DANBURY, Conn. -- State Sen. Michael McLachlan is urging area residents to tune in to Channel 23 this month to watch the Veterans’ Wartime Service Medal Ceremony.
The Oct. 20 ceremony at Danbury High School honored veterans from Danbury, New Fairfield and Sherman. They were presented with Connecticut Veterans Wartime Service Medals. State and local elected officials, as well as family members of honorees, were in attendance.
Channel 23 will air the ceremony on the following dates and times:
• Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 12:30 and 8 p.m.
• Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 8 p.m.
“The ceremony was simply a way to say ‘thank you’ to our veterans, and I especially want to thank Channel 23’s Community Access Coordinator Dave King for airing the ceremony twice on Veterans Day,” McLachlan said.
“What an opportunity for residents of all ages to pause, tune in to Channel 23, and reflect on the sacrifices our veterans have made in order to protect our freedom.”
