Danbury Airport Keeps Its Control Tower And More In Top News

DANBURY, Conn. - After fears of losing the control tower at Danbury airport, the Federal Aviation Administration found the money to keep the tower open.

The tower at Danbury Airport will stay open after the FAA announced a delay Friday in its decision to close 149 such towers across the nation.

The FAA announced Friday afternoon that it had been able to find the money to keep the tower staffed.

The Danbury City Council passed the more than $227 million budget on Tuesday night.

Every store front at the Marcus Dairy Shopping Center has been filled up this past week. Signs in each of the remaining three store fronts indicated that they would soon be full.

On Wednesday night, the Danbury Board of Education heard the first reading of a new policy regarding the lottery for the new International Magnet studies middle school to open in 2014.

New cupcake and burger joints will join the family of restaurants at Danbury Fair Mall this summer, the mall website reported.
