DANBURY, Conn. -- Even with the snow this weekend, it's time to rake those leaves, as the City of Danbury’s free Spring Leaf Pick-Up Program begins Monday April 18 and will continue for six weeks through Friday May 27.
Only leaves bagged in paper leaf bags with no tape should be left at curbside for the city’s Highway Department to pick-up.
City officials said nothing plastic, including plastic bags will be picked up. Residents should note, that large debris, rocks, dirt, branches and garbage will be picked up separately.
Limbs should be cut into lengths no longer than 4 feet. No limb may be larger than 4 inches in diameter. Branches must be bundled with twine, no heavier than 35 pounds.
The pick-up program is divided by Interstate 84: Section A is south of I-84 (ZIP Code 06810) and Section B is north of I-84 (ZIP Code 06811)
- Section A will be picked up the first week, April 18, through April 22. Residents in this zip code are asked to place their bags curbside Sunday evenings.

This cycle will be repeated through May 27.
If your bags are not picked up on the scheduled week, they will be picked up prior to the termination of the program.
