DANBURY, Conn. -- Coldwell Banker sales associate David Stuckey helped sell two homes on 40 Acre Mountain Road in Danbury in the past six months. But the way the deals came together was not quite business as usual.
Stuckey sold 153 40 Acre Mountain Road. The seller, David Stucky, selected the Coldwell Banker associate because they had the same name, although they were spelled differently. “We both hit it off great,’’ David Stuckey said. “We sold the home in four months.”
Joe and Joanne Angello, who live in Queens, N.Y., found the listing on Zillow and loved the area. “They told me this was the type of home they were looking for as a weekend home,’’ Stuckey said. “I told them that unfortunately, the home had an accepted offer.”
Stuckey and his New York clients remained in contact. The couple loved to visit twice a month to shop at Stew Leonard’s. They looked as far north as Sherman. “Nothing clicked, and Sherman was too far from Stew’s,’’ Stuckey said. “We looked at homes from winter through spring.”
In late June, the home at 116 40 Acre Mountain Road popped on the market. “As soon as I saw it on my morning hot sheet I emailed to Joanne and she was sending it to me the same time, saying I want to see this home,’’ Stuckey said.
Negotiations took three days before the Angellos and the seller reached an agreement. “It has beautiful views from their deck of Candlewood Lake,’’ Stuckey said. “It’s exactly what they were looking for.”
The house at 116 40 Acre Mountain Road is a 2-bedroom, 2-bath ranch with 1,284 square feet of living space. The home was built in 1962 and is part of the Hawthorne Cove subdivision. It has enticing lake views, a level lawn, scenic gardens, and beach access. The home also underwent extensive renovations and has numerous upgrades, including an expansive deck and covered patio.
The house 153 40 Acre Mountain Road is a contemporary cape with three bedrooms, one bath and 1,846 square feet of living space. The home blends comfort and good looks, and the owners can walk to a private dock and swimming area.
Both homes are close to Candlewood Lake.
“It’s really unusual the way these deals came together,’’ David said. “They liked the fact that Stew's was just a short distance away. It seems like both of these deals just fell out of the sky.”
