DANBURY, Conn. – A Danbury nanny charged with beating and burning a 3-year-old girl pleaded not guilty Wednesday to three criminal charges filed against her, according to newstimes.com.

Lidia Quilligana, 31, is charged with two felonies - first-degree assault and risk of injury to a child – and a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.

The charges stemmed from an incident caught on a nanny-cam March 27, during which police say Quilligana deliberately inflicted second-degree burns on the child’s hands and leg on a stove.

Quilligana had little to say in court Wednesday, and her next court appearance is scheduled for May 27, according to newstimes.com.

She continues to be held on $1 million bond.
