DANBURY, Conn. -- The city of Danbury has issued a Level 1 snow emergency as of 6 p.m., Thursday, according to a call from Mayor Mark Boughton.
A total of 6 to 10 inches of snow is expected to fall in the overnight hours with extreme, bitter cold, Boughton said.
Driving will be dangerous, he said.
Under the snow emergency, residents must move their cars off the street to allow for snow-removal operations to begin. Danbury residents who do not have other arrangements can park for free at the Patriot Garage at 21 Delay St. near the train station.
Contact the Danbury Parking Authority for additional snow emergency parking locations and information at 203-748-6423.
The mayor had one additional request for residents. "Please shovel the sidewalk in front of your home," Boughton said.
