Danbury's Richter Park Authority Reaches Deal For Cell Tower

DANBURY, Conn. -- The granddaughter of the woman who donated the land to Danbury for Richter Park has granted a partial waiver on the deed restrictions so that a cell tower can be placed near the golf course, said WLAD.com.

The Richter Park Authority has reached a tentative agreement to add a cell tower to the 180-acre property.

The Richter Park Authority said it is close to an agreement to place a 150-foot cell tower on the 180-acre property, which a City Council committee will consider, said WLAD.com.

The authority has been looking for ways to fund projects at the park — including improvements to hiking trails, tennis courts and the golf course —  without asking the city for taxpayer money, added WLAD.com.
