DANBURY, Conn. -- If books are gathering dust on your shelves, you can clean up your house and do a good deed by donating those books to the Friends of the Danbury Library.
The Friends are accepting donated books, DVDs and CDs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Danbury Library, 30 Main St.
That's in the Danbury Executive Tower, located across from Price Rite, south of the Danbury Library.
Volunteers at the building's side entrance will help unload cars. Donations will help support library programs and services.
The donated books are used for annual book sales and our occasional book sales in the library. The money collected supports the Danbury Library's needs and missions.
The following items are not accepted:
- VHS videotapes
- Reader's Digest condensed books
- Medical or business books older than five years
- Textbooks older than three years
- Computer books older than two years
- Textbooks with writing, highlighting, or underlining
- Badly damaged books.
The next book drive is set for Saturday, Aug. 9.
