Heavy Rainfall Saturates Danbury; Nearly 2 Inches Falls In Area

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The most recent storm dumped plenty of rain across the region, including several Fairfield County cities and towns that saw over an inch of precipitation, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Here are the rainfall totals, in inches, for locations in Fairfield County:

  • Bethel: 1.98 
  • Danbury Airport: 1.66
  • North Danbury: 1.51
  • New Canaan: 1.38
  • Westport: 1.35
  • Bridgeport Airport: 0.83
  • Stamford: 0.79

The rain began late Wednesday, was heavy overnight and continued into Thursday. 

Friday will begin mostly cloudy, but will gradually clear to mostly sunny skies with a high of about 71 degrees, which is unseasonably warm for mid-October. 

Isolated showers could threaten the area on Saturday morning, but the day is expected to be mostly sunny with temperatures hitting the low 70s. The chance of morning showers is about 20 percent.
