In addition to leading the day-to-day operations of the two hospitals, DeBarba will continue to oversee medical affairs, nursing, quality and human resources across the network and the Western Connecticut Medical Group.
DeBarba had been serving as president of Norwalk Hospital, Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital since January. Before its affiliation with WCHN, he served as president and chief executive officer of Norwalk Hospital.
In other appointments, Michael Daglio, senior vice president and chief operating officer of WCHN, has been appointed president of Norwalk Hospital.
Dr. Thomas Koobatian will continue to serve as executive director and chief of staff at New Milford Hospital.
"Our mission began, and is firmly rooted today, in our communities," Dr. John M. Murphy, president and chief executive officer of WCHN, said in a statement. "These local leadership appointments demonstrate WCHN's commitment to the integral relationships between each hospital and its community. Dan and Mike are extraordinary leaders. By tapping into their knowledge and expertise, all three hospitals will be ready to respond to the changing needs of our patients."
