Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the meeting will take place late Wednesday afternoon and that Obama will deliver brief remarks at the end of the meeting.
“The president’s travel today to New Jersey and Connecticut has been postponed,” Earnest said in a statement. “Late this afternoon, the president will convene a meeting at the White House of cabinet agencies coordinating the government’s response to the Ebola outbreak.”
Obama had planned to attend a private fundraiser for Senate Democrats in Union, N.J., before heading to Bridgeport in the evening for a campaign rally for Gov. Dannel Malloy, who is in a close race with Republican challenger Tom Foley.
