After months of delays, the Danbury Sports Dome opened for business at 25 Shelter Rock Lane. Construction on the facility, which includes more than 100,000 square feet of space, began in June 2012 after three years of planning. It will play host to soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, wrestling and field hockey among other sports.

A Danbury husband chased down a Redding man who stole his wife's purse off her shoulder as she was entering their Main Street home late Sunday, police said.

In a sting operation, 11 Danbury package stores sold alcohol to minors, according to a police report. Three undercover minors went into 44 package stores in the city and successfully bought alcohol in a quarter of the stores.
