Plea Deal Offered In Danbury Nanny Child-Abuse Case

DANBURY, Conn. -- A nanny who was arrested a year ago on charges of abusing three children in her care has been offered a plea deal and was given six weeks to accept or reject it, according to the News-Times.

Lidia Quilligana, 31, a Danbury nanny accused of beating and burning a 3-year-old girl, has been offered a plea deal and has six weeks to decide if she will accept it.

Lidia Quilligana, 32, who has been held in jail on $1 million bond, has until May 4 to decide on the deal, details of which were not made public, said the News-Times.

Quilligana was caught on video beating and burning a 3-year-old girl she was caring for, in addition to abusing the child's 1 year-old twin siblings. 

The nanny, who has been charged with 23 counts of risk of injury to a minor and one count of first-degree assault, has maintained her innocence and pleaded not guilty to all charges, added the News-Times.
