U.S. News & World Report Ranks Danbury Hospital No. 3 In Connecticut

DANBURY, Conn. -- U.S. News & World Report ranked Danbury Hospital as the No. 3 hospital in Connecticut.

According to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Regional Hospitals 2015-16, of the nearly 50 hospitals in Connecticut, Danbury Hospital is one of seven that exceeded expected standards of care in the following three adult procedures and conditions:

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Heart Failure
  • Knee Replacement

“This regional recognition is an incredible testament to our staff and reflects their knowledge, expertise and commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate care,” said Matthew Miller, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, Western Connecticut Health Network.

According to the publication, the “Best Hospitals” are rated on their care for meeting the needs of the most challenging and medically complex patients whereas “Best Regional Hospitals” rate hospitals that demonstrate excellent performance in procedures and conditions that typify everyday inpatient care.

Yale-New Haven Hospital was ranked No. 1 in Connecticut, and Hartford Hospital was ranked No. 2. Greenwich Hospital was among four hospitals ranked fourth-best in the state.
