Carolyn Ann Otto, 80, Longtime Danbury Resident

DANBURY, Conn. — Danbury native and longtime resident Carolyn Ann (Masi) Otto died on Sunday, April 29. She was 80.

She was born in Danbury in 1935 to Angelo and Blanche (Patton) Masi.

She graduated from Danbury High School in 1954 and St. Mary’s Nursing School for Children in Bayside, N.Y. 

She and her husband were founding members of the Danbury High School Booster Club and hosted foster children for the state of Connecticut. She taught CCD classes for St. Joseph’s Church and volunteered at Danbury Hospital. 

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John "Jack" Otto; children Hans and spouse Pina Otto, Eric Otto, Jennifer Otto, Karl and spouse Joan Otto, Katrina Otto and spouse Ronald Freier. 

She also is survived by siblings John Masi and his wife Michele, Ronald Masi and his wife Nancy, Angela and her husband Dan Dayton, as well as grandchildren Kyle, Brooke, Reese and Brynn.

She was predeceased by a son Lars Otto, sister Bernice Masi Cole and parents Angelo and Blanche (Patton) Masi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 8 Robinson Ave., in Danbury. 

Interment will follow in King Street Cemetery in Danbury. 

There will be no calling hours. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her memory to the King Street Baptist Cemetery — C/O Angela Dayton, 18 Pocono Ridge Road, Brookfield, CT 06804.
