Denzil R. Muschett, 69, Of Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. - Denzil Roy Muschett of Danbury died Wednesday, Feb. 12. He was 69.

Muschett was born July 20, 1944, in Annotto Bay, St. Mary, Jamaica, West Indies. He was the son of Lena and Ambrose Muschett. He attended Miss Norton Catholic School and Holy Trinity Church, where he served as an altar boy. He worked at Jamaica Public Service Co. as an electrician and also worked for Kem-Tek Pool Products.

In 1968, he moved to the United States and took up residency in Springfield, Mass., where he worked for Uniroyal. He later relocated to Danbury. While working part time for Nejame & Sons, he also worked full time at Gilbert & Bennett for 15 years. After the closing of Gilbert and Bennett, he began a full-time role with Nejame & Sons.

Muschett is survived by his wife, Verna Muschett; daughter, Veronica; a grandson; mother, Lena; aunt, Gloria Humphrey; stepchildren, Sherron, Leoni, Sandra, Delroy, and Hugh; 11 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; sisters- and brothers-in-law; and a host of extended family; and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Ambrose; and son, Martin Muschett.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 104 Main St., Danbury. Burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the burial at New Hope Baptist Church, 12 Aaron Samuels Blvd., Danbury.
