Edward Collins LaFlam, Jr., 81, Former Resident Of Danbury

SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. - Edward Collins LaFlam, Jr. of Surfside Beach, formerly of Danbury, Conn., died Dec. 5. He was 81.

LaFlam was born May 25, 1933, in Enosburg Falls, Vt, to Edward and Jessie LaFlam. After his marriage he moved to Danbury and raised a family. They moved to Surfside Beach, in 1996. He entered the United States Army in 1953 and was stationed in Germany. He was employed for many years in the Danbury, Conn., area, and was a member of the Teamsters Union, retiring to South Carolina.

LaFlam is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, David of Maine, Lisa (Jeffrey) Buzaid of Sherman, Conn., Cyndee (Allen) Lord of New Milford, Conn., Michele (Daniel) LeDuc of S.C.; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Beverly Dudley of Conn.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Kevin; and siblings, Roger, James and Betty.

There will be a memorial in celebration of his life Jan. 10, 2015, in Surfside Beach. Interment will be in the King Street United Church of Christ Cemetery, Danbury, Conn., at the convenience of the family.
