Eugene Gallucci, 84, Of Danbury, Korean War Veteran, Owned Barber’s Shop

DANBURY, Conn. - Eugene J. Gallucci of Danbury died Sunday, March 30. He was 84.

Gallucci was born April 12, 1929, he was the son of Charles P. and Rose (Caprio) Gallucci, Sr. A lifelong Danbury resident, at the age of 14, he joined his father as a barber in his shop in Danbury, eventually taking over the business when his father retired. He was a graduate of Danbury High School and had served in the Army during the Korean War, stationed in Virginia and Labrador. Gene was active in local politics during the 1960's and 1970's serving on the common council. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church.

Gallucci is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Dawn Dinho of Danbury, Lori Zarcone (Joseph) of Brookfield, Jill Fay (Eric) of Southbury and John Gallucci of Danbury; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers-in-law George Graef, William Peyron and Gary Albert (Melinda); sisters-in-law, Kay Keating (Edward) and Ann Gallucci; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Charles P. Gallucci, Jr. and William Gallucci; and sisters, Gloria Graef and Mary Peyron.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 3 at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
