Geraldine Scott Swan, 64, Formerly Of Danbury, Certified Nurse's Assistant

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Geraldine Scott Swan of New Haven, formerly of Danbury, died Saturday, Jan. 25. She was 64.

Swan was born Feb. 8, 1949, in Savannah, Ga.; daughter of James and Willie Mae (Coaxum) Scott. She resided in Savannah until 1964 when she moved to Danbury where she was a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) at the former Heritage Heights Healthcare. In 1996, Geraldine returned to Savannah where she was a member of the housekeeping staff of the River Street Inn. She was a resident of New Haven for the past three years. She was a member of Harambee Center and the Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Zion Church of Danbury.

Swan is survived by her daughter, Sonya Renee Scott Campbell (Stanley) of Savannah; three grandchildren; sisters, Thomasina Mitchell of Ridgeland, S.C., Delores Elleby, Jamesetta Scott and Cynthia Scott Mayo all of Danbury; many nieces, nephews; and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; sister, Henrietta H. Brockington; and brothers, Marion Coaxum, James Scott and Charles Scott.

Calling hours are Saturday, Feb. 1 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Church A.M.E. Zion Church, 69 Rowan St., Danbury. Funeral Services will take place Saturday, Feb. 1 at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant Church with the Rev. Lloyd McKenzie Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
