DANBURY, Conn. - Guy G. Gardiner of Danbury died died Sunday, Nov. 23. He was 83.
Gradiner was born March 7, 1931, in Newtownville, Mass., to Frank D. and Virginia (Gibson) Gardiner. He was a graduate of Loomis Chaffee Prep School in Windsor, Class of 1950. He then attended two textile colleges; Philadelphia Textile College and Lowell Textile College. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and served as a crew chief on a C-47 for the United States Air Force. He retired as a district sales manager for Kimberly Clark after 35 years of employment.
He was a 32nd degree mason, and a charter member of the Danbury Men's Club.
Gardiner is survived by his wife, Deborah; daughter, Pamela G. Mickewich (Robert) of Newtown; a granddaughter; daughter-in-law, Diane D. Giardina of New Fairfield; brothers-in-law, David Carr (Barbara), and Robert Carr; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and son, Bruce F. Gardiner.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 at the Congregational Church of New Fairfield. In spring 2015, a service of interment will be held at the church for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gardiner's name to the Alzheimer's Association .
