Guy J. Farina, 84, Of Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. – Guy J. Farina, 84, a former resident of Stamford, died Friday, May 15, at Danbury Hospital.

He was born in New York City on July 26, 1930, to the Francesco and Ursula Farina.

He graduated from the University of Connecticut and the Boston University School of Law.

He practiced law in Stamford for 50 years before his retirement. His clients included the Stamford Community Development Office.

In 1999, he helped Stamford arrange the first loan in the nation awarded under the Environmental Protection Agency's Brownfields Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund Program. 

He is survived by his children, Laurie Knowles (John) of Warwick, N.Y., Steven (Ann Rakestraw) of Washington, D.C.; and three grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Farina; his second wife, Elaine Farina; and two brothers, Frank and Jack Farina.

Funeral services will take place at a later date.
