Helena Larsen, 71, Lifelong Danbury Resident

DANBURY, Conn. - Helena (McGee) Larsen, a lifelong New Fairfield and Danbury resident, died Saturday, July 12. She was 71.

Larsen was the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Commins) McGee. She was a graduate of St. Peter School and Danbury High School, Class of 1960. She worked for many years at Dolan Corp. in Bethel. She was a real estate agent in New Fairfield for over 25 years.

Larsen is survived by her children, C. Eric and (Malissa) Larsen of Chapel Hill, N.C., Lauren (Steven) Greenberg of Danbury and Elizabeth (Michael) Kim of Wellesley, Mass.; four grandchildren; and siblings, Charles Vincent McGee, Loretta Hissong (Larry), Jerome McGee, Patricia McGee, and Edward McGee (Valerie). She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Christian David Larsen; brothers, Edward Sr., William, Paul and James; and sisters, Kathleen Baird and Mary Slaving.

Calling hours are Tuesday, July 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, in St. Peter Church, Danbury. Interment will take place at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, at the direction of the family. As a tribute to her legacy, friends and family are encouraged to wear pink to her funeral service.
