Irene Toussaint, 89, Of Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. - Irene (Zack) Toussaint of Danbury died Wednesday, Sept. 25. She was 89.

Toussaint was born Oct. 6, 1923, in Danbury, daughter of John and Anna (Sveda) Zack. She worked at Sikorsky Aircraft during World War II. She later worked for Neumann Engler Hat Shop and Kimberly Clark.

Toussaint is survived by her husband, Philip; daughter, Nancy DeMunnik (Gregory) of Danbury; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Pauline Souza of Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and son, Richard Toussaint. Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at St. Gregory the Great Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
