DANBURY, Conn. John "Jack" Brosz Sr. of Danbury died Aug. 15 at his home with family by his side. He was 78.
Brosz was born in Danbury to Geza and Mary Ellen Brosz. He attended Danbury schools and was co-owner of the former Ray-Jack Coffee Shop in Danbury. Married to Ethel Brosz, he served in the Navy during the Korean War.
He went on to work as an automotive machinist at the former Harry Harris Company before joining the maintenance department at Photronic Inc. Brosz was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church.
Brosz is survived by his wife, Ethel; a son, John G. (Randylynn) Brosz Jr., of Danbury; a sister, Marjorie Holick, of Danbury; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy McCarthy.
Funeral services will be private. Green Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, 405 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810.
