DANBURY, Conn. - Jack J. Villodas of Danbury died Monday, Oct. 13. He was 92.
Villodas was born in New York City, to Cecelia Pardillo of Cadiz, Spain and Joaquin Villodas of Guayama, Puerto Rico. After graduating from St. Agnes High School in Manhattan, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Cleveland as a signalman. After graduating from RCA Institute, he began a career in the electrical engineering field; working for a number of computer and aerospace companies. In 1970, he moved to Danbury and in 1975 founded his own electrical manufacturing company, ICDI. He retired in 2003 from the day to day activities, but remained as chairman.
His many volunteer activities included the Danbury Hospital Board of Trustees, the USS Cleveland Reunion Committee, Danbury Chamber of Commerce, Community Action of Danbury, Hispanic Learning Center, Danbury Zoning Board of Appeals, Danbury Republican Town Committee and a corporator of the Union Savings Bank.
Villodas is survived by his wife, Olga (Lopez) Villodas; sons, Steven (Diane) of Brookfield and Rick of Danbury; three grandchildren; sister, Carmen Azua of Corona, Calif.; and a large extended family.
Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17 at St. Joseph Church, Danbury, with the Rev. David Franklin, parochial vicar, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
