Seeley was born in Bridgeport, to James F., Sr. and Lucy Ryan Seeley. He was a 1950 graduate of Danbury High School and attended Western Connecticut State College. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was employed at the Barden Corporation in Danbury where he worked for over 60 years. He was a longtime secretary of the Concordia Society and secretary and chief scorer of the SNYRA. A Danbury resident for over 60 years, he was previously from Brookfield.
Seeley is survived by his son, James F. Seeley, III of Danbury; daughters, Christine M. Neves (Glenn) of Newtown, Terri O'Neil (Tim) of New Milford and San Diego, Calif., and Judith Johnston (Tom) of Middlebury; sister, Betsy Ard of Bridgeport; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Lorraine A. (Carrine) Seeley; brother-in-law, Robert Ard., Sr.; and nephew, Robert Ard, Jr.
Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A prayer service will be conducted in the funeral home Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:45 p.m. Burial will be held in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury at a later date.
