Katherine A. Curesky, 98, Retired From Barden Corporation In Danbury

BROOKFIELD, Conn. - Katherine A. Curesky of Brookfield died Monday, Nov. 24. She was 98.

Curesky was born Jan. 31, 1916, in Danbury, to Michael and Mary (Baranovska) Kroll. She attended Danbury schools and was a retired group leader having been employed with The Barden Corporation of Danbury. She was a resident of Brookfield for the past 25 years and was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Danbury.

Cresky is survived by her daughter, Nancy Margerison (Edward) of Southbury; son, Rev. Mark Leo Curesky, OFM Conv., Pastor of St. John Church of Cromwell; four grandsons; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Leo Curesky; and sisters, Ann Marasco, Bernice Daly, Stella Flye, Sophie Amorosa Wilkalis and Victoria Gereg.

Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury. A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Danbury with Rev. Mark Leo Curesky, OFM Conv., son of the deceased as main celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
