Maria Gallagher, 40, Danbury Marketing Analyst

DANBURY, Conn. – Maria E. Gallagher of Danbury died Oct. 24 at her home. She was 40. Gallagher was born Nov. 17, 1971, in Mexico to Antonio and Elena Figueroa Alvarez. She immigrated to the U.S. with her family in 1978 and first settled in New Rochelle, N.Y. She attended local schools, New Rochelle High School and Westchester Community College. Gallagher received a bachelor’s degree from Albany State College and a master of business administration degree from Iona College. A marketing analyst, Gallagher was employed by W.J. Deutsch & Sons Ltd. in White Plains, N.Y. She was married to Kevin M. Gallagher, who survives her. She lived in Danbury for the past 10 years, coming from Mount Vernon, N.Y. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Danbury. She enjoyed arts and crafts and scrapbooking, and was an avid reader. Gallagher is survived by her husband; her parents, Antonio and Elena, of New Rochelle, N.Y.; two daughters, Amanda Gallagher and Megan Gallagher, both of Danbury; three brothers; a sister; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Church in Danbury. Burial will be private and there are no calling hours. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home in Danbury is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
