Mario Banac, 65, Of Danbury, Worked For Barden Corporation

DANBURY, Conn. - Mario Banac of Danbury died Tuesday, Oct. 14. He was 65.

Banac was born May 2, 1949, in Yugoslavia, to Stephen and Vivian Banac. He emigrated with his family from Yugoslavia to Brazil in 1954 and to the United States in 1962, first settling in Astoria, N.Y. A resident of the area since 1978, residing in New Fairfield and later Danbury, he was first employed with the Barden Corporation and most recently as a planner with the Kimber Co. of Yonkers, N.Y.

Banac is survived by his son, Steven Banac of Danbury; and former wife, Victoria (Haidar) Banac also of Danbury. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Naji J. Kiwan officiating. Interment will take place in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
