May Margaret Lynch, 97, Former Danbury Resident

DANBURY, Conn. -- May Margaret Lynch, a Yonkers native and former Danbury resident, died on Saturday, Dec. 27. She was 97. 

Lynch was born in Yonkers, and was the daughter of the late Edward J. Lynch and Emily May Shuler.

Lynch attended Yonkers schools, and went on to be a teacher in Yonkers and Hastings on the Hudson. During World War II, she taught G.I.'s how to read and write. Later in life she taught children on the Indian Reservation in Florida. Her passion was family history, she enjoyed to tell people, she descended from the Brown's of Fordham Manor.

She is survived by her cousin Paula Kennedy and husband, Donald of Danbury, with whom she made her home, and several other cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Edward J. Lynch Jr.

There will be a private burial on Friday Jan. 2,  in St. John's Cemetery, Yonkers in the Shuler family plot.
