Mildred Houghtaling Chiarella, 78, Of Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. - Mildred Houghtaling Chiarella of Danbury died July 6. She was 78.

Chiarella was born Aug. 16, 1934, in Danbury, daughter of Richard Houghtaling and Marie Michaud Mott, and step father Henry Mott, Sr.

Chiarella is survived by her brother, Henry Mott, Jr.; sisters, Shirley Mott, Catherine Webb all of Danbury and Harriet Abrams of Bethel; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Ralph J. Chiarella; brothers, Harry and Robert Houghtaling; sister, Margaret Houghtaling; nephew, William Chiarella; and niece, Carolyn R. Abrams. Calling hours are from 5 and 7 p.m. Friday, July 12 at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 13 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
