Olympia Borges, 85, Of Danbury, Worked For Davis & Geck Company

DANBURY, Conn. - Olympia Borges of Danbury died Wednesday, Oct. 8. She was 85.

Borges was born in Pawtucket, R.I., to Joaquim and Patrocina (Fernandes) Coelho. She attended Danbury schools and had worked for many years as a quality control inspector for the former Davis & Geck Company of Danbury. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.

Borges is survived by her son, David Borges (Maria) of Woodbury; two granddaughters; brother, Valentine Coelho (Lorraine) of Monroe; sisters-in-law, Cidalia Aires and Beth Coelho; brother-in-law, Julio Aires; several nieces, nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Aurelio Lopes Borges; brother, Joseph Coelho; and sister, Gloria Coelho.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Danbury. Entombment will follow at the St. Peter Cemetery Mausoleum.
