DANBURY, Conn. -- Pearl J. Turk, of Danbury, died on Sunday, May 24. She was 94.
Turk was born on Jan. 10, 1921 in New London to Goldie and Morris Mallove. She graduated from Connecticut College and Columbia University.
She went on to work as a marriage counselor for Family and Children's Services and in the Danbury and Ridgefield Public School systems, ending up as a mediator for the Connecticut Department of Education Special Education Division.
Turk was am active volunteer with the Greater Danbury Jewish Federation, the Danbury Public Library book sales committee, the Danbury Concert Association, and Congregation B'Nai Israel .
She was predeceased by her parents, first husband Al Bergman, daughter Miriam, and brother Harvey Mallove.
Turk is survived by her husband, Amos Turk; two sons, Robert and Michael Bergman; their wives, Linda Ray and Deborah Teason; stepchildren Janet Wittes, Jon Turk and Daniel Turk; their spouses Robert Wittes, Nina MacLean and Yuki Turk; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place in Congregation B'Nai Israel, at 193 Clapboard Ridge Road in Danbury, at a time to be announced with Rabbi Nely Altenburger officiating.

Interment will take place in the Children of Israel Cemetery, located at Miry Brook Road in Danbury.
