Raymond L. Murad, 84, Of Danbury, Worked For Barden Corporation

DANBURY, Conn. - Raymond L. Murad of Danbury, formerly of Bethel, died Monday, Sept. 22. He was 84.

Murad was born in Danbury, to Joseph S. and Sophie Ocker Murad. He was a 1948 graduate of Bethel High School and received his degree in physical education from Western Connecticut State University. He served in the U.S. Air force during the Korean Conflict. He also served in the Air Force reserve until 1960. He was a longtime employee with the Barden Corporation in Danbury and was a member of the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department, VFW Post #149, Catholic War Veterans Post #1042 and the American Legion Post #60.

Murad is survived by his brother, Joseph Murad of Bethel; nephews and nieces; and several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and wife, Mary L. (Polakowski) Murad.

Calling hours are Friday, Sept. 26 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26 at Sacred Heart Church, Cottage St., Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
