Ronnie Gustavson, 87, Of Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. - Ronnie Gustavson of Danbury died Monday, Feb. 10. She was 87.

Gustavson was born Aug. 31, 1926, in Seymour, the daughter of Peter and Bertha (Kubisek) Solomon. A resident of Danbury since early childhood, she attended Locust Avenue School and graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1944.

Gustavson was a retired legal secretary with the law firm of Martin Rader Sr. and Martin Rader Jr. She worked as secretary to J. Thayer Bowman, former mayor of the City of Danbury. She was a former member of the Y.G.O.P., Danbury Republican Women’s Club and the Republican Town Committee and served as an election poll moderator.

Gustavson is survived by a daughter, Deborah Cassavechia (Larry) of Danbury; sons, Raymond H. Gustavson (Mary Agnes) of Mont Clair, Va., and Eric P. Gustavson (Pamela) of Brookfield; brother, William Solomon of Messina, N.Y.; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Raymond H. Gustavson.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will take place Monday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 174 Whisconier Road, Brookfield, with the Rev. Joseph Shepley officiating. Interment will take place in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury, in spring.
