Stephen Augustine Noone, 96, Of Danbury, Retired Lieutenant, FCI

DANBURY, Conn. - Stephen Augustine Noone of Danbury died Thursday, Aug. 15. He was 96.

Noone was born Jan. 10, 1917, in Massachusetts, son of Stephen Frances and Elizabeth (Wilson) Noone. He came to Danbury in 1942, after serving in the U.S. Army and went to work for Federal Bureau of Prisons. He retired from the FCI as a lieutenant in 1973, and went to work in security at Naugatuck Valley Community College for an additional 10 years.

Noone is survived by his children, Stephen A Noone Jr (Sally) of Crawfordville Fla., Judy Coffey (Bill), Susan Johnson (James), Robert Noone (Geramy) all of Danbury, David Noone (Elisabeth) of Redding and Peter Noone of Suwanee, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Harriett; brother, James; and sisters, Helen, Frances and Isabelle.

Calling hours are Monday, Aug. 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 at St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
