Vincent James Melillo, 74, Of Danbury, Army Veteran, Sales Consultant

DANBURY, Conn. - Vincent James "Vinnie James" Melillo of Danbury died Thursday, Oct. 9. He was 74.

Melillo was born in Danbury, to Vincent and Antoinette Melillo. He was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School, served in the U.S. Army, and had a career as a sales consultant.

Melillo is survived by his wife, Althea (Lathrop) Melillo; daughter, Toni Fives (Chuck) of New Fairfield; son, James Melillo of Danbury; stepsons, Kevin, Kraig and Kyle Gallagher; six grandchildren; sisters, Carmella Imbarrato of Garden City, N.Y., Aurora Wyrum (Lee) of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Marie Funk (Louis) of Sherman; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Dominic Melillo.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 115 Main St., Danbury. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
